SceneArchive.org focuses on the collection of graphic materials from Slovak subculture during the 1990s, when it emerged from the underground after the fall of the communist regime in 1989. The core of the collection are concert posters or fliers, which at the time were an integral part of the grassroots promotion that fueled the underground scene. This scene was built with the DIY ethos, so these posters were made by the bands themselves, or by the people supporting them. Most of the posters were created with the use of drawing or collage techniques, and then multiplied on offset or copy machines.
